A warm DMRA welcome to STERNE - December 2018

STERNE, based in France and established in 1980, are an active player in the communications industry; developing and marketing communication and surveillance products for Tactical, Military, Search and Rescue and also Civilian markets. With a customer base distributed across the globe we as the DMRA welcome them as a member and as a contributor to our product showcase.

TAIT updates their showcase

Tait communications have been providing critical communications solutions for 50 years. Tait designs, manufactures, deploys and supports a wide range of analogue and digital land mobile radio products and systems. They have recently updated their products in our showcase. Please come and take a closer look.


Our members are what drive us, so we’re pleased to welcome six new members to the DMRA. September 2018

X Radio designs and manufactures wireless communications solutions and injection moulding technology to a 1-million-dollar export market in over 20 countries. Unimo Technology has over forty years’ experience producing communications for the military and other applications including radio systems for the Seoul Olympics..

They’re joined by both MutualLink and Jöhl + Köferli. Mutual Link manufacture the highly capable and specialist Interoperable Response and Preparedness Platform offering support to public safety networks. Jöhl + Köferli again specialise in the public space; this time in transport where they produce single-frequency radio networks for public transport that interconnect synchronously allowing a topographically difficult area to be covered nationwide on a single frequency.

We’re pleased to welcome CFE Transmission and AIEN Technology Corporation. CFE provide the transmission network for the public service of power distribution across Mexico and together with AIEN Tech they form the final pair of new members.

These six companies come together under the DMRA umbrella, using the associations services to the full and gaining technical and product support as necessary to help develop and grow their businesses. We’re delighted to have them aboard.


We’re pleased to welcome Tehnika Pty Ltd to the DMRA April 2018. Since it’s formation in 2012 Tehnika has delivered first class solutions to its clients. They supply off the shelf products in tailored packages to a wide variety of industries including logistics, warehousing, horticulture and transportation. Their expertise in delivering real time monitoring and control packages is delivered by a team of well qualified engineers. The company’s services cover the full lifecycle of software project delivery from initial inception through to round-the-clock support and maintenance.


ENTEL Joins the DMR Association February 2018

August 2017 - IWCE online conference The Future of Voice Communications Webinar Series … Other Enterprise LMR Protocols: NXDN, DMR, TETRA Wednesday, August 30 @ 2 pm ET DMRA representatives from Leonardo and Hytera will be participating in IWCE’s upcoming Online Conference webinar:- “Other Enterprise LMR Protocols: NXDN, DMR, TETRA” on 30 August 2pm ET. Bill Frederickson from Leonardo and Martin Edwards of Hytera will be sharing their expertise on the pros and cons of these narrowband offerings, and how they will adapt in the new IP-based world. This session will make a great primer for the management of a CIO staff who may not be as well versed on narrowband and broadband as they are on IT technologies. They’ll be working through the advantages and disadvantages of narrowband offerings, reviewing NXDN, TETRA and DMR and how they will adapt in this new IP-based world.

Angelo Benvenuto, DMRA member, will be speaking at this conference that concentrates on integrated control, management and security systems. This conference in Moscow is the perfect forum to share expertise, adding to the conversation about how these systems have become a core factor in sustainable development of enterprises, communities and countries all over the world. In 2017, the second day of the conference will be dedicated to discussing the most important aspects of preparing and establishing the telecommunications and IT infrastructure for management, control, safety, security, communications and broadcasting during the FIFA 2018 World Cup, as well as the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup.

January 2017 - We’d like to welcome these new members to the DMR Association

Systems integration specialist Digital Research and Consulting - DRC have just completed their Category 1 membership registration. Based in Thailand DRC is a leading local manufacturer in wireless communication and electronic interface. The Italian Red Cross Association has joined us as a Category Three member. September 2016 - We’d like to welcome these new members to the DMR Association
Talkpod Technology Co. Ltd was one of the first professional two-way radio and accessories manufacturers in China. Talkpod is dedicated to the manufacturing and marketing of battery packs, chargers, antennas, audios and carriers for two-way radios.

The hybrid business, D2N Pty Limited, offers consulting services for broadcast and event communications, two way radio hire, sales and design, Rf over fibre, optical delay line and Rf spectrum planning.

Founded in 1992 Dat-Con offers system integration, electronic applications, special measuring and multimedia equipment In law enforcement and crime prevention and control industry. Dat-Con has developed widely implemented systems.


August 2016 - A new website promoting technical excellence, built by sector leaders Graphic Identity
Developing our presence at all levels is important to the DMR Association and we're very much aware that the impact of our online presence has far reaching business implications for our members. With that in mind we've worked with online marketing specialists Graphic Identity to build this, our re-launched website. Graphic Identity have long experience in the communications sector and agility in developing eye catching and engaging technical content which remains eye catching and effective. The new site contains a wealth of easily accessible information about the DMRA and its aims, as well as being a source of information about DMR and the DMRA membership.



August 2016 - ETSI releases new version of DMR Tier III trunking standard
London, UK – 23 June 2016 - The Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) Association is pleased to report, that the European Telecommunications Standardization Institute (ETSI) has released Version 1.8.1 of the Tier III Trunking Part TS102 361-4 of the Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) standard. This update provides valuable expansion and further definition of the rules and descriptions relating to PTT de-key, payload channel assignment, late entry, short data and call diversion facilities. It further builds upon the last substantial update to the specification last year which included significant additional functionality of Dynamic Group Number Assignment, Full duplex voice and data communications, Transmit Interrupt and Application Data over an IP bearer.

October 27, 2015 - ETSI releases new version of DMR trunking standard
The Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) Association is pleased to report, that the European Telecommunications Standardization Institute (ETSI) has released Version 1.7.1 of the Tier III Trunking Part TS102 361-4 of the Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) standard.

April 14, 2014 - Independent research confirms DMR leadership in operations critical markets
The Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) Association is pleased to confirm that research by IHS (www.ihs.com) shows, that DMR has become the leading digital Professional Mobile Radio (PMR) technology in operations critical markets such as transport and industrial having more terminals in use than any other digital technology.


February 26, 2014 - The DMR Association announces the successful completion of two Tier III and of one Tier II Interoperability Testing Sessions
The Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) Association today announces the completion of three further successful DMR interoperability test sessions. Two sessions were for DMR Tier III (trunked operation) and the third session for Tier II (conventional operation).
The Tier II tests took place between Selex ES and Simoco. The Tier III sessions took place between Selex ES (infrastructure) and Hytera (terminals) and Selex ES (infrastructure) and Tait Communications (terminals). The Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) Association today announces the completion of three further successful DMR interoperability test sessions. Two sessions were for DMR Tier III (trunked operation) and the third session for Tier II (conventional operation).

23rd August 2012 – DMR Association Announces Shanghai 3G, Wuhan and Gencom as New Members, and Larimart Upgraded Membership
The Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) Association warmly welcomes Shanghai 3G (China), Wuhan New Technology Communications (China) and Gencom Two-Way Radio (Australia) as new DMR Association members. We would also like to announce that Larimart has upgraded to Category 1* membership.


4th July 2012 – DMR Association Welcomes Bei Feng as New Category 1 Member
The Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) Association welcomes Fujian Bei Feng Telecom Technology Co., Ltd (China) as our newest Category 1 member.
Bei Feng, established in 1989 and located in Quanzhou, is a Chinese manufacturer of professional two-way radio equipment..


20th June 2012 – The DMR Association announces the 1st successful completion of DMR Tier III interoperability testing
The Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) Association announces the first successful completion of DMR Tier III interoperability testing. This test took place using Tait Communications trunking infrastructure and Hytera terminals at the Tait facilities in Christchurch, New Zealand.
